It was with great honour to receive the 2017 WA Business Leader of the Year Award, especially with such a high calibre of great leaders in Western Australia at present. I was truly humbled and appreciative.
I donated my prize money to the Snowdome Foundation whose mission it is to accelerate new therapies for Australian’s with Blood Cancer. They achieve this by enabling clinical trials and working with the world-leading Australian researchers in identifying and prioritising key opportunities. They are making hope real. Thank you for helping me help them.

Hollywood Private Hospital was incredibly proud to be named winner of the 2017 ‘Customer Service Excellence’ Award and represented among some of Australia’s leading organisations.
This Award truly reflects the commitment of our entire team of employees, volunteers and doctors to always placing patients at the centre of everything they do and embracing the Ramsay Health Care philosophy ‘People caring for people’.
Being recognised for customer excellence validates the many initiatives we’ve introduced to build a strong culture including teams of people who are motivated to provide the highest quality care and services to members of the Western Australian community.

Winning the Emerging Business Excellence category validates us as a business, and reassures those who’ve supported us as a charity. The NFP challenge is to be commercially smart while retaining the charitable heart. At the end of the day, as a charity, you help no-one if you can’t run a viable business.
The Award helps us to create a narrative around our core values, one of which is aspiring to brilliance. Credibility is hard currency in our field and we want people to know that excellence permeates all of our work, not just the work we do out in the field in communities and schools.

Horizon Power was thrilled to receive the Human Resource Management Excellence Award in 2017 on behalf of the team who dedicated seven years to developing and coordinating our Remote Community Utilities Worker (RCUW) training program.
This award was great recognition of a unique program which improves lives in some of Western Australia’s most remote communities through the creation of jobs and improving the reliability of energy supply in these communities. Drawing on the success of the program we continue to explore opportunities to expand the program and build new capabilities in the regions in which we operate.
